There’s so much to be done and things are overwhelming. The sink is filled with dishes and the laundry pile is rapidly growing. Who ever has enough time in the day to get caught up when we’re already behind? The kids need supervision, the husband is home for lunch, and the shower…. shower? Who has time for that? I already feel awful for being behind and I have no energy at all. I need to raise my energy level!
A house doesn’t fall that far behind in an hour and it won’t get caught up in an hour either. We need to cut ourselves some slack in the shame department. No one needs to be shamed and besides, shame is not a healthy motivator.
There the dishes sit, in the sink, piled high.
- Do you ever just look at the kitchen sink and say, “ugh”?
- Do you just walk away and leave it like that?
- Is your kitchen counter covered in a week’s worth of mail to sort through?
- Has this ever happened to you when a friend calls to see if she can stop by and
- you’re suddenly overwhelmed with how to get it all done before she gets there?
You sigh and decline to have her come by, because its just too overwhelming for you.
Today, I wanna give you a glimpse into a portion of this intuitive process I use when I just don’t feel like cleaning.
This home revolution I experienced was more than just sweeping under the rugs or mopping the floor.
It’s more than just housework.
It was my own personal adventure through my home and with each corner that I cleared away,
I found the ability to release things that had encumbered me.
Twenty-plus years of trappings needed to be dusted off and cleared away.
I didn’t have to focus so much on what needed to be tossed, because I was focusing on releasing those things so my happy thoughts could rise to the top and be seated in their place of honor.
I had resisted those dusty old boxes, because of the memories they held.
Some weren’t so good and I didn’t want to re-live those dark days. Keeping my vision cleared for what I WANTED in my life empowered me to let go. The more I let go, the more liberated I became.
It’s an ongoing odyssey which I fully embrace.
To embark on this soulful pilgrimage takes courage, but no more courage than it takes to simply open your eyes in the morning.
Putting your mental energy into thinking about what you don’t want is still giving attention to those things. To be truly free takes personal discipline to NOT think of those things.
The question isn’t “how do I stop thinking of these things?” Its not about ‘how do I stop thinking of that messy kitchen?’ How can I NOT think about it when all those dishes are just sitting there?
The question is “what do I WANT to spend my time thinking about?” Then actually following through with thinking of those good things. Its about thinking of your clean kitchen, because that’s what you want to manifest.
Think of something that makes you happy, even if you don’t have it in your life right now.
Here’s an example, I’m currently sitting in my office at the computer, but the sun is bright and cheery, beckoning me, but I have work to do.
Kinda makes me not wanna work, but work must get done.
Here’s my process for raising energy;
I’m thinking of sitting at the beach with my bare feet in the warm sand.
Now I elaborate on that thought.
I’m thinking of sitting at the beach on a comfortable chair, with my bare feet in the warm sand and the sun is the perfect temperature on my skin.
Next, I close my eyes and expand that thought much further.
I’m thinking of sitting at the beach on a comfortable chair, with my bare feet in the warm sand and the sun is the perfect temperature on my skin. I see sailboats gliding across the waves and hear the waves crashing on the shore. The aroma of the salty breeze is grounding me and I feel the sea mist gently resting on my face.
I let this thought sink deeply within me, as if I’m there already.
I breathe deeply, smile, and feel it in the depth of my soul.
This is how you raise positive emotions in yourself and then pivot yourself in a positive direction. Now I’m working quickly, with excitement, because I know I’ll be walking over to the beach as soon as I’m done.
Use this same approach in your intuitive home solutions.
Don’t think about the messy kitchen. Think about your clean kitchen, because that’s what you want to manifest.
Imagine the clean kitchen with a fresh lime scent and lit candles on the counter.
Visualize the sink being clean and dry, the window sill wiped down, and the floor clean enough to walk barefoot on.
In your mind, have an invisible chat with a friend over coffee or tea. Have some baked cookies on a plate to offer your friend.
Feel the emotions that come with that imagery.
This is how you raise your positive emotions up to motivate you to get the kitchen clean. You’re no longer thinking of the messy kitchen, you’re thinking of what you want to manifest, having your friend over for coffee.
The most rewarding part about it is when you do have that friend over and you know you’ve created this space just for you and the friend.
You will have not only raised the energy needed to get the kitchen clean, but you’ve raised your emotions to a positive level about your relationship with your friend.
You can diffuse lime essential oil into the air just before your friend arrives, for a softer aroma blend with lavender.
