The more I grow in my spiritual life, the more I view life organically. The ‘going through the motions’ kind of life that is seen throughout our culture has become bland to me. From the time we wake up until the time we pillow our heads, we go through the same ol’ motions which leads me to view life as a cookie cutter approach only to put all the cookies in boxes by the end of the day. I know having a good routine is helpful in many ways, but I’m trying to break that mold and discover life outside that traditional routine. It’s my new fashioned way of living. It’s organic living.
Any time I can break out of a mold to enjoy life organically I become increasingly aware of how exciting life can be. I do all I need to with routine, but I don’t stay in routine for every aspect of my life. Many people have a hard time with being flexible. They don’t really like change. Our ‘routine nature’ resists it. But we live on a living planet with seasons that vary from region to region. The winds don’t always stay the same, the temperatures fluctuate, and the barometer can shift at any time. As living organisms we should take a lesson from the very creation that surrounds us. We are a part of this magnificent creation. Every fingerprint of God is embedded in our physical and spiritual DNA just as they are in the very fibers of the fur of a bear, the textured nose of a puppy, and the gills of a puffer fish.
Looking at life through this perspective gives me a greater sense of my spiritual reality in Christ.
Colossians 1:16-17 ”For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” ESV
Nehemiah 9:6 “You are the LORD, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you.” ESV
Psalm 102:25 “Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.” ESV
