Question of the week:

Q: Where can I share my photos to get more clicks back to my work?

A: Pix-O-Sphere. It’s free to use and bloggers can use your photos in their articles. The more bloggers who use your photos, the more your work gets seen. Your photo credit STAYS with your photo.

*Disclaimer: I am a co-owner of Pix-O-Sphere and naturally want to promote the service, because I actually believe in it. None of the links in this post are paid.

Coastal Homes

We were driven out of our home for a few hours as pest control came to tackle an ant infestation. I detest ants! Ever since I was a little girl and I accidentally stepped on an anthill and my legs were covered in them… I’ve had a frantic anxiety problem whenever I see a trail. We tried battling them on our own for about three weeks before I finally demanded we hire pest control. So in our 3 hour outing we enjoy the park and a nice afternoon drive along the coast of Orange County, Ca. I suppose when you look at it this way I can say ‘thank you’ for the ants, because it was why we had to get out of the house. We spent a couple hours at the park walking barefoot in the grass and studying the flowering trees. This last week was all about flowers in our Science class and the timing was absolutely perfect!

After our picnic lunch we decided to go for a drive and enjoyed sight seeing together. We came upon a quaint little neighborhood of streets on the peninsula of Balboa and I captured some shots that just take my breath away. This is just one of several reasons I enjoy coastal living.

Tagging Instagram Photos to Connect with Others

I’ve been enjoy Instagram for a few months now and have been sharing them at Pix-O-Sphere, because I haven’t been able to find a way to access and share those photos outside the app. Besides that, I prefer the customization of how I share my photos at Pix-O-Sphere. What I did notice within the Instagram app is the option to tag your photos much like we tag our tweets on Twitter. The good ol hashtag! So when you upload your photos to the Instagram stream use the hashtag symbol # in front of each word you want to use as keywords. Some Intagram hashtags I like to add to my photos is #naturegram, #picoftheday, #photooftheday, #church, #beach, #OC (for Orange County), #clouds, #life, and many more!

Then once you tag your photo tap on the tag to see all the other photos from Instagrammers all over the world! I’ve been able to connect with many more people than I imagined I could. Pay attention to the tags people use and watch how many ‘likes’ they get. Tagging your images on Instagram will connect you with many more friends and get you more likes on your photos…assuming your photos are spectacular! Be sure to put your blog, Twitter, and Facebook link in your profile so people can connect with you outside of Instagram as well.

Another way of getting great shots onto Instagram is downloading your images from your photo sharing account onto your phone. Once you have the images in your phone’s gallery, go to that picture and use your share option to share it to Instagram. You should be able to get the image from your phone, into the Instagram editor to put your favorite filter and/or border on it then upload it to your stream.

So without further adieu, here are some photos that I have ran through my Instagram filter.
