How Triberr Multiplies Your Reach

Maybe you haven’t heard much about Triberr yet or perhaps it seems confusing to you, so I’ll share the key points of why I think you’re missing out on expanding your blog reach.

Joining Triberr is free, but by invitation only.  They are still in beta, but are expanding their features rather quickly.

When you join Triberr, your Twitter reach multiplies like rabbits! If you and three tribe friends each have 500 followers, then the maximum reach is 2,000! Now imagine if you each have 1,000+ followers!

You simply accept the invitation that is sent via DM on Twitter, sign up with your invitation code and add your RSS feed.  Now the next time you publish a blog post, all your tribe friends Twitter accounts will tweet out your link.

If you’re concerned about which links go out, you can set your account to manual and this gives you the control needed to send out what you approve of.

Triberr’s software detects how many of your links were clicked on through each tribe member. This lets you know which one of them has their audience coming to your blog. You also have a mini forum, for your tribe only, so you can discuss tribe business.

A few things to keep in mind when you join Triberr…

-Don’t tweet directly from the Tribe page. This will cost you bones. You will eventually run out of bones and need to upgrade. However, once you have 8 tribe members and have discussed adding more, you can each use some free bones to expand the tribe to allow more people in. That way you are collectively investing in the tribe.

-Be sure you added the RSS feed from your blog.

-When you join, you will be given your own tribes to manage. But you can’t invite members from other tribes unless you upgrade. So you’ll need to invite people who have not yet accepted an invitation to Triberr.

I have a tribe that is currently growing and we have 4 slots left. HomeSpun Friends.. we all met at the Relevant Conference 2011.

In our tribe are:

Dawn from 5KidsandaDog.com

Rachel from Titus2Homemaker.com

Me :)

Jamerrill from Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling

Blog with Grace at Growing in Grace

Michelle from SomeGirlsWebsite.com (currently on hold as she finished up her vacation)

Once we fill those the remaining slots, then I will upgrade to add more to the tribe.

We blog about homemaking, recipes, homeschooling, photography, family life, and faith.

Does our tribe sound like a good fit for you? Leave a comment below with your Twitter handle and I’ll bring your names to the Tribe Council to schedule adding you to the tribe.

*Note: All member’s blogs must be family friendly and void of condemnation.

Why Triberr?

The first few times Veronica invited me to Triberr it came as a DM and I wondered if her account had been hacked. The wording seemed a bit formatted and not as personable as I know she really is. I finally sent her a DM to ask about it and I began my trek through Triberr’s system to learn how it works and how it functions. Since then they have added new features and made it more customizable and I am thankful for all those who offer them feedback to make their service better and give Tribe leaders more control over what is sent out through a tribe.

My initial response was that some conservative folks may not like the service since each tribe member’s Twitter account auto Tweets every other tribe member’s blog posts. Conservative bloggers tend to be more apprehensive about stuff being sent out automatically unless they have approved of it. Now a Tribe Chief can set the Tweets to pending until approved. So be sure you trust your Tribe Chief before accepting an invite to join their tribes.

You can add a Tribe description and Tribe requirements, you control who gets in and who is invited. There’s a conversation forum just for your tribe called the Council. You can discuss with your members who to invite and although it may seem a bit cliquey be sure to keep in mind that the Tribes are about bloggy business and business decisions need to be made without worrying about shirt worn feelings.

Each Chief has 3 tribes to begin leading with so you can specify different Tribes for different audiences. I happen to really like some women as people, friends, and sisters of faith, but I may not agree with promoting their religion. If the majority of their Tweet links are about religion, they don’t need to be in that specific tribe. You can add to the description of your Tribe that it’s all “Evangelicals” or “Protestants” or “Catholic”. You can create a Tribe of friends of various faiths, but understand that it means your account will Tweet out the links of those various faith’s blog posts. It’s your choice and when you set your Tribe Tweets to ‘moderate’ then you’ll have more control over that, but keep in mind that you’ll have to explain why you didn’t allow some posts through. You can specify to your Tribe that you will only allow through their posts about recipes, photography, or homeschooling. It’s all up to you.

You can make your Tribe publicly visible or hidden, deny autoTweeting anything that contains explicit words, and space Tweets out by however many minutes you want so you don’t flood your Twitter stream.

Why Triberr?

Being in a Tribe is like Twitter on Steroids. Each Tribe member sends out your blog posts to their stream, multiplying your reach like rabbits in mating season. If you and 3 Tribe members each have 5,000 followers on Twitter, your blog link will reach your 5,000 + 15,000 more.

When you join, do NOT post a Tweet from your Tribe page directly, it will cost you bones. Bones are the system’s form of commerce, like credits, and although I would earn bones when you Tweet directly from the Tribe is costs you too much. When the system pulls the RSS feed from your next blog post, it won’t cost you anything. You can upgrade by buying more bones and unlock ‘Inbreeding’ which would allow you to invite members from other Tribes into yours. As it is right now, a Chief can only invite friends from outside the system (non-members) to their Tribes, unless they upgrade and unlock that Inbreeding function.

I am Chief of Three Tribes right now. I have my Tribes limited for now and will increase members in the future.

HomeSpun Friends: This is a Tribe for those who read my blog and my bloggy friends. Most of them are of the Christian Faith and kind hearted people who blog about sensible faith, photography, and/or homeschooling. 5 Slots available

Soul Liberty Faith: This is a group for more diverse out-of-the-box, throught provoking faith. Not limited to only Christianity. 6 slots available

Relational Blogging: This Tribe is for those who write about blogging and social media from a relational perspective. That means your social media advice is not dogmatically rude or belittling of other bloggers. It doesn’t mean you have to ONLY blog about social media, but that you have a robust category with great relational social media advice. 6 slots available

If you would like to be considered for one of my tribes leave a comment below with which tribe you’re interested in and your Twitter handle.
